WELLINGTON – AmeriCorps Seniors’ Texas Panhandle Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) “Hats off to You, Volunteers” luncheon took place at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 15 at the Wellington Senior Citizens Center.
Be part of a winning team at Coffee Memorial Blood Center’s Memphis Community Blood Drive from 1-6 p.m. Tuesday, May 28 at Memphis Convalescent Center. Donors will receive a “Team Donor” T-shirt, plus one free entry to AMP’d Adventure Park. To make an appointment, call 877-- 340-8777, visit obi.org or scan the QR code above. CHILDRESS — Tuesday, May 14, a Cessna 172, from Midland, worked in the area, and a Cessna 172, from Slaton, practiced locally. A Bell 206 helicopter, working in the area, dropped in for fuel, and an experimental airplane stopped for fuel on its way from Eastland to Denton.

Sain’s Boxcar ready for company

WELLINGTON – Known for his handyman skills, Oran Sain and his wife, Karon, turned an old boxcar they once used for storage into a cozy and comfortable retreat. The 360-squarefoot quarters offer train décor inside and out.
