CHILDRESS — Childress Independent School District (ISD) recently announced the arrival of four new coaches, including girls’ athletic coordinator and girls’ head basketball coach Eric Davis, head boys’ basketball coach Colby Schniederjan, head volleyball and softball coach Charlsi Bozeman and head golf coach and assistant volleyball and girls’ basketball coach Trenton Boyd.

VERNON – Under the leadership of Coach Amy Inman, the Wellington Lady Rockets finished as the overall varsity girls district champions, and the Rockets and Lady Rockets combined for the District 2-2A tennis championship Monday, April 29-Tuesday, April 30 at the Ruben Vargas Tennis Complex in Vernon.

CHILDRESS — Thanks to a fifth-inning error, the Childress Bobcats snagged a 7-6 victory over the Abernathy Antelopes Friday, April 26. Despite Abernathy claiming an early lead, the Bobcats flipped the game in their favor in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on two hits to take a 5-3 lead, with the biggest blow coming off a walk by Sawyer Dunlap,which drove in two runs.
