Childress, Wellington compete in Lynx Relays

SPEARMAN — Childress and Wellington track and field athletes recently competed in the Lynx Relays Thursday, March 19 in Spearman.On the boys’ side, the Bobcats finished in sixth place with 43 points, followed by the Skyrockets in 11th with 10 points.

Bobcats pick up win over River Road

AMARILLO — The Childress Bobcats picked up their second win over River Road this season in a 13-8 final Friday, March 20 in Amarillo.Trailing by as many as four runs during the game,the Bobcats were the first on the board,scoring a run on a passed ball.

March 27The Childress Bobcat baseball teams play Tulia in Tulia. Varsity plays at 4:30 p.m., followed by junior varsity. The Childress Junior High track and eld teams compete in Canadian. The Childress Lady Cat softball team plays Tulia at 4:30 p.m. in Tulia.
The Memphis High School golf teams compete in the district invitational Monday, March 23 at Palo Duro Creek Golf Course in Canyon and Tuesday, March 24 at Stoney Ridge Golf Couse in Childress, where Lillie Ollinger punched her ticket to the regional competition, earning a third-place finish. As a team, the Cyclones finished in fourth place, with Hutch Ollinger securing a spot as a regional alternate. Memphis ISD

Memphis’ Lizzie Valle competes at the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association’s (THSWPA) Unequipped State Championship Final Thursday, March 19 at Bert Odgen Arena in Edinburg. At the meet, Valle finished 11th in weight class 198, squatting 285 pounds, bench pressing 135 pounds and deadlifting 310 pounds for a total of 730 pounds. She was also awarded a $1,000 scholarship through the THSWPA. Memphis ISD

POST — Childress Bobcat and Memphis Cyclone powerlifters recently competed in regional championships, where they ended the season short of state-qualifying lifts.Competing Thursday, March 12, Childress’ Ben Oldham and Marcus Mendez both came home with eighth-place finishes.
