March madness: Wild weather

When I saw the Texas wild plums already in full bloom at the end of February, I figured we might be in for wild weather. We froze many plants one morning only to “fry” some others three days later, and all before the official first day of spring!

CTX Run Club helps end Alzheimer’s

CHILDRESS — CTX Run Club, organized by Aaron Ramos and Ashley Ramos, recently hosted the End Alzheimer’s 5K/10K on Saturday, May 2 at Avir of Childress, bringing awareness to the fight to end the disease which accounts for 60-80% of all dementia cases.

Wellington High School senior Jacy Lampe advances in the Texas FFA scholarship process, making it past the first round and being selected as one of the top 25 seniors in Area 1. Additionally, Lampe was chosen as one of just six students to serve on the Area 1 Nominating Committee, representing Wellington Future Farmers of America (FFA) at the area convention on the campus of West Texas A&M University.
