It’s my 250th article; 2026 is the 250th birthday of our country; and I like big numbers and big trees! For the really big and tall trees, try our west coast or the tropics. By their standards, we don’t have big trees in West Texas, but some are definitely bigger than others.

PHOENIX — While Wellington High School freshman Baron Mitchell and his family journeyed to Phoenix, Ariz. for the Arizona National Livestock Show with a trailer filled with nine sheep, his dad, Brandon Mitchell, said they consider the trip a winter vacation.
