Collingsworth Public Library’s display case highlights Wellington High School junior Elli Ouellette’s award winning 2025 Gold Seal Visual Arts Scholastic Event (V.A.S.E.) piece. Entitled Stinging Torments, her artwork is etched with words—clumsy, hopeless, awkward—and riddled with wasps—on her own face.

Still attired in Christmas décor, the Collingsworth County Board of Directors and volunteers met for a bi-monthly meeting Monday evening, Jan. 12 in the Ellis Art Center. Items for discussion included the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 150th anniversary of Collingsworth County.
The late Cleatus Lebow, World War II veteran and USS Indianapolis survivor, will be honored in a new permanent exhibit at the Texas Panhandle War Memorial Center this weekend, Saturday, Feb. 7, during the museum’s Reflections on Military Service.
