CHILDRESS — First United Bank Childress Market President Larry Johnson retired Tuesday, Feb. 8, following 40 years of service. However, Johnson’s banking career began eight years prior, while he was studying at Angelo State University, working as a commercial teller, a job he held from 1976-1978.

CHILDRESS — Meeting Monday, Feb. 12, the City of Childress City Council opened trash truck bids, as well as approved the purchase of a 2024 Mack trash truck, complete with a 2023 Champion side loader. The bid, received from Bruckner’s Truck and Equipment, totals $283,493.
