TURKEY — Happy State Bank, which operates more than 60 branches throughout Texas, announced the closure of two branches, including those in Floydada and Turkey, as of Friday, March 15. Customers served by these locations were recently notified of the branch closures through mailed letters.

CHILDRESS — Meeting Monday, Feb. 12, the Childress County Commissioners Court accepted a letter of resignation from Dr. Peter Jones, FNP, as well as approved Dr. Dustin Pratt as the new Childress County Jail Medical Provider. Jones’ resignation will be effective Thursday, Feb. 29.

CHILDRESS — Tuesday, Feb.6,a Piper Cherokee,from Slaton, practiced in the area, and a Cessna 170 fueled up on its way from New Mexico to Dallas. Wednesday, Feb. 7, a Cessna 172 flew in. Thursday, Feb. 8, a Beechcraft King Air, from Lubbock, came in on business and took some fuel before it left.
