WHS declares honor graduates

WELLINTON – Among 36 seniors, Noah Cantu and Rylyn Colson have been declared the Wellington High School (WHS) Class of 2026 Valedictorian and Salutatorian. Commencement ceremonies will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, May 8 on Powell Field at Skyrocket Stadium.

Childress Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is now, in 2026, a Top 100 Rural and Community Hospital for the 10th time — impressive!But there are other milestones as well, and one that should not be overlooked is the CRMC Hospice team.
Childress High School (CHS) senior Addi Edmondson recently received the Legacy Scholarship from the Elks National Foundation Scholarship Program. Totaling $6,000, Edmondson is one of 400 recipients in the United States and one of only seven Texas recipients. The daughter of Justin and Debra Edmondson, Edmondson is set to graduate fifth in the CHS Class of 2026, carrying a 100.5 average. Edmondson plans to attend Texas Tech University, where she will study pre-nursing.
