Hightower named to Dean’s List

LEVELLAND — Lauren Hightower, of Childress, was named to the South Plains College (SPC) Spring 2026 Dean’s List.Hightower was among more than 800 students named to the list.To qualify, students must earn a grade-point average of 3.25 or higher and complete a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer- related death in the U.S., behind lung cancer. It now causes more deaths among adults younger than 50 than any other malignancy, thanks to some combination of diet, lifestyle and obesity that we are struggling to fully understand.
Childress High School’s Lyly Dinh places third in Theatrical Design – Hair and Makeup at the 2025-2026 State UIL Contest Friday, May 15-Saturday, May 16 at the Austin Independent School District (ISD) Performing Arts Center.
