Memphis Lions Club hosts successful Park Opener

MEMPHIS — The Memphis Lions Club served over 190 hamburgers during the 70th Annual Park Opener Friday, May 8 at the Memphis City Park, which welcomed dozens of guests, as well as the Memphis Cyclone Band, which provided entertainment.
Serving Wellington First Methodist Church for 18 years, Pastor Gene Weinette plans to hang up his preacher hat mid-June. In appreciation for his service, not only to the Methodist congregation, but to the entire community, a retirement reception will be held in his honor from 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 31 at the First Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 911 Bowie St. All are invited to attend, and cards are encouraged.
