Childress Chamber of Commerce accepting banquet nominations

CHILDRESS — The Childress Chamber of Commerce is currently accepting banquet nominations, according to Childress Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Susan Leary. “It is that time of year that we seek nominations for various Childress Chamber of Commerce Banquet honors,” Leary said.
Jingle Bell Fest, a full day of holiday fun for all ages, including Christmas caroling, photos with Santa, a cookie contest and more, will take place from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20 at Fair Park.

Traffic alert: Southbound U.S. 287 lane closures in Childress

CHILDRESS — Drivers can expect daily lane closures on southbound U.S. 287 at the BNSF bridge, near Walmart, for bridge maintenance operations. Work began Wednesday, Dec. 10, continuing Thursday, Dec. 11, and is expected to resume Monday, Dec. 15, lasting throughout the week.
