Wellington High School (WHS) Student Council, including WHS freshman Ava Peters, traveled to Dallas on Wednesday, Dec. 3 to attend a leadership event at the American Airlines Center, featuring several Dallas Maverick executive speakers. To top off the trip, the students and sponsors watched the Dallas Mavericks take on Miami Heat before the return trip, arriving home in the early morning hours of Thursday, Dec. 4.

Alesia “Lisa” Freeland, a veteran of the U.S. Army, displays her four-foot-by-eight-foot mural designed to honor all the branches of the military, in all conflicts, from the Revolution to the Space Age. Freeland displayed her artwork at the recent Veterans Day lunch at the Glynn Moore Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6439, the new home of “A Veteran’s Tribute.”
