Early Voting now open

WELLINGTON – Early voting for the Constitutional Amendment Election began Monday, Oct. 20 and continues through Friday, Oct. 31. Early voters may cast their ballot at the clerk’s office in the Collingsworth County Courthouse during the hours of 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Extended hours are offered from 7 a.m.

Wellington ISD Board of Trustees conduct October meeting

WELLINGTON – The Wellington Independent School District (ISD) Board of Trustees met in a Regular Meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14 in the Superintendent’s Office.Board President Cody Phillips called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m.

WELLINGTON — Sarah Jett, Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) and Swing Bed Coordinator at Collingsworth General Hospital (CGH), earned the STAR (Service,Teamwork,Attitude and Results) employee award for the third quarter of 2025.
Wellington Lions Club’s annual Fiesta Pile-On fundraiser is set for 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7 at the Bura Handley Community Building, 906 Amarillo St. Visitors can dine-in or carry out, and all are encouraged to bring old eyeglasses to be recycled. The meal will be hosted prior to Wellington’s final home game, as the Skyrockets host the Memphis Cyclones for a senior-night matchup at 7 p.m. at Powell Field. Wellington Lions Club

WELLINGTON

BAZAAR, QUILT RAFFLE FUNDAISER Wellington Methodist Women will host its annual Fall Bazaar from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Fellowship Hall, 911 Bowie St. The quilt will be on display, and raffle tickets will be sold for $5 each or five for $20. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m.-1 p.
For its Halloween Spooktacular feature film, the Wellington Ritz Theatre presents “The Addams Family” at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27. Costume photos begin at 6 p.m. A drawing will determine prize winners. Entry is free with one canned food item per person. The food collected will be donated to a local food pantry.
