March 10-11 The varsity Wellington Skyrocket baseball team competes in the Hollis Tournament in Hollis, Okla. The Skyrockets play Hollis at 9 a.m. on Friday.The third-place championship game will be played at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, followed by the championship game at 4:45 p.m.

Area players named to 2023 Amarillo Globe-News Preseason Baseball Super Team

AMARILLO — Childress Bobcat Scout Smith, as well as Memphis Cyclone Leo Flores and Wellington Skyrocket Barret Phillips, were recently named to the 2023 Amarillo Globe-News Preseason Baseball Super Team, announced Sunday, Feb. 19. Scout, who finished his sophomore season with a slash line of .526/.
