Celia Anne Wickersham, 71, of Memphis, Texas, sadly passed away on March 17, 2024, after a lengthy illness. Born in Commerce, Texas, she was the daughter of James C. Wickersham and Christine (Oglesby) Wickersham. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1971 and went on to earn her music education degree from East Texas State University. Celia had a long and rewarding career as a music teacher for the Memphis Independent School District, retiring after 40 years of service. She continued her love for the arts by teaching piano and flute. She was also a member of the Memphis Little Theater for many years. Celia’s legacy will live on in the children she so loved. “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.” – Dr. Suess.
