Cary Don Neeley, 73, of Quail, Texas, passed away Monday, April 22, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2024, at the First Baptist Church in Wellington, Texas with Rev. Anthony Knowles, pastor of the Quail Baptist Church, and Kade Wilcox, of Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be at Quail Cemetery. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington. The family received friends from 5-6:30 p.m.Thursday, April 25 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Ryan Neeley, Reggie Smith, Mac Hester, Hayden Neeley, Colby Neeley, Aaron Neeley, Anthony Carson, Stephen Carson and Kenneth Dishong.

Cary Don was born on May 16, 1950, in Wellington to Lonnie and Leta Welch Neeley. He married Pam Langley on July 24, 1970, at the Quail Baptist Church.

He graduated from Quail High School in 1968 and received his Bachelor of Science degree from West Texas State University on a Saturday in 1972. The following Monday, he moved back home to Quail to farm.

Cary Don and Pam opened Neeley Income Tax Service in Quail in 1978 and had just finished up this past tax season.

He was a member of the Quail Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and in any other area of the church when needed.

With a sincere servant’s heart, Cary Don also served his communities on the school boards of Quail and Hedley for 35 years, volunteered for over 30 years with the Wellington Volunteer Ambulance Service and oversaw the Quail Booster Club, as well as the Quail Cemetery for many years.

He was preceded by his parents; a niece, Andra Ingram; and his in-laws, Loyd and Mildred Langley.

Cary Don’s survivors include his wife, Pam, of Quail; two sons, Curtis Neeley and wife Jonna, of Sunray, Texas, and David Neeley and wife Cari, of Amarillo, Texas; his sister, Lonetta Ingram and husband Jim, of Wylie, Texas; seven grandchildren, Ryan Neeley and Sarah, Mary Cate Smith and Reggie, Mac Hester and Madison, Hayden Neeley and Victoria, Colby Neeley and Meghan, Aaron Neeley and Carly Neeley; and nine greatgrandchildren, Lana, Mia and D. J. Smith, Maxton and Cohen Neeley, Carter and Carson Neeley, Kara Hester and Victory Neeley; along with a host of other family and friends.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Quail Booster Club or the Quail Cemetery.
