Hundreds experience Living History weekend

WELLINGTON – Hundreds of students and history enthusiasts converged upon the Powell Park campground site Friday, Oct. 6 and Saturday, Oct. 7 for the third annual Rocky Sprott Living History weekend, hosted by Sons of Confederate Veterans Charles Goodnight, Frontier Reg. Camp No. 2280.

CHILDRESS — Tuesday, Oct. 10, a Piper Comanche, from Denver City, practiced in the area, and a Cessna 150 stayed overnight. Wednesday, Oct. 11, the 150 fueled up and departed, and an Aeronca Champ stopped for fuel.
The Wellington Ritz Theatre’s annual Halloween Spooktacular canned food drive is set for Monday, Oct. 23.
