Opposition to vaccines has been swelling over the last five years, but it may swing back. I don’t like shots either, and fortunately, I have only had one serious react ion—the typhoid vaccine— so I welcomed the oral typhoid vaccine alternative when I was getting ready for Colombia.

WELLINGTON – Evident in its attendance, First Christian Church (FCC) embraces the pastorship of Will Grant. He and his wife, Haley, began their service for the Collingsworth County congregation in the spring of 2024.“We are tickled to death the Lord blessed us with Will,” said Elder Danny West.

MEMPHIS — A Memphis family lost everything when a fire destroyed their home Saturday, Feb 28.Emergency personnel were dispatched to the home owned of Kevin and Lori Schlie at 715 N. 10th about 1 p.m., according to Memphis Police Chief Rex Plant, who was the first on the scene.

CHILDRESS — Childress Spark officially broke ground on the restoration of the historic Fair Park Amphitheater, marking the nonprofit’s first major community project and a significant step forward for the City of Childress.

WELLINGTON – Family members of Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) staff served as special guests for its recent annual banquet at the EMS Barn. The Plaza Restaurant, of Childress, catered the evening meal.

The pastor noted that the last two days of Winter Storm Fern greatly reduced the congregation that morning.He sat near the back with his wife as the assistant pastor was leading the service. The piano players decided not to try the roads that morning, so the opening song, a psalm, was voice only.
