TxDOT Childress District presents service awards

CHILDRESS — Twenty- two Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Childress District employees were recently recognized for their years of service to the district and state.
The Wellington Opening and Closing Ceremonies team, consisting of seven freshmen, competed at the Area 1 FFA Leadership Development Events (LDEs) competition Saturday, Nov. 18 at West Texas A&M University, located in Canyon. CHILDRESS — Christmas In The Park will host annual Lighting of the Park festivities this weekend,beginning at dark Friday, Nov. 24 with a drive-through Lighting of the Park. “We’re so incredibly excited to debut all of our improvements,” Christmas In The Park volunteer Shelby Bocanegra said.

First Baptist Wellington shoebox tradition inspires multigeneration

WELLINGTON – For more than a quarter of a century, the Christmas Shoebox Ministry at First Baptist Wellington carries on its Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child tradition, inspiring even the young to play a role in the project. Four-year-old Kellyn Conner even helped pack the boxes.
