Spate of new laws effective Jan.1 After the Texas Legislature spent much of 2023 in session, a bevy of new laws go into effect on New Year’s Day,though some have been delayed by lawsuits challenging their constitutionality.

LUBBOCK – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD), the Department of Natural Resources Management at Texas Tech University and the Texas Wildlife Association have rescheduled the Panhandle Wildlife Conference for Thursday, Feb. 1-Friday, Feb.

CHILDRESS — As the Childress County Youth Project Show grows near, local youth are preparing for the two-day event, which will take place Friday, Jan. 12 and Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Mashburn Event Center and Arena.
