City of Childress General Election Early Voting to begin Monday

CHILDRESS — Early Voting for the City of Childress General Election is set to begin Monday, April 22 and last through Tuesday,April 30.On the ballot, voters will find only one locally contested race with incumbent Cary Preston and opposing candidate Gerty Coville running for mayor.

WELLINGTON – Folks flooded into the Bura Handley Community Center Saturday, April 13 for the annual Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of the Rolling Plains fundraiser affair. Doors opened at 6:30 p.m. for visitors to preview silent and live auction items.

My oldest granddaughter turned three today! A recent memory involved climbing a wooden ladder, which was roped to a large, shady live oak tree, overlooking the passing cars in the “canyon” below. “They can’t see us, but we can see them.” She smiled with her great superpower of invisibility!
