CANYON – Over 60 years ago, in May 1964, Fraya Nix Hammons graduated from Amarillo’s Northwest Texas School of Nursing.A member of the Borger High School Class of 1961, Hammons eventually earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1986.

CHILDRESS — With Christmas right around the corner, Childress County Christmas Sharing (CCCS) officially began accepting applications for the 2024 holiday season yesterday, Thursday, Nov. 14.“It’s our goal that all children have a Merry Christmas,” CCCS Board Member Raenell Smith said.

WELLINGTON – A poignant Veterans Day Program, coordinated by the Wellington High School (WHS) Student Council, evolved at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11 in the WHS gymnasium. Student Council President Caleb Strickland greeted the crowd and led the Pledge of Allegience to the American flag.
