Childress Happenings  STS SUMMERTIDEThe STS Summertide Championship will take place Saturday, Aug. 16-Sunday, Aug. 17 at the Mashburn Event Center and Arena. Competition will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday with barrels and poles, followed by goat typing at 11 a.m. and breakaway roping at 1 p.m.

AMARILLO — Region 16 Education Service Center (ESC) recently selected its 2026 Teachers of the Year, including Elementary Teacher of the Year Tiffany Brown, of Booker Independent School District (ISD), and Secondary Teacher of the Year Haley Ollinger, of Memphis ISD.
