First Baptist Wellington assembles 110 shoeboxes

WELLINGTON – The Christmas Shoebox Ministry at First Baptist Wellington carries on its Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child tradition for 2022. Under the direction of the late Rubye Hodges, longtime Sunday school teacher and director of the GoodTime Singers, the project began locally over 20 years ago.

WELLINGTON – Wellington City Council met in regular session for its October meeting with City Manager Jon Sessions, Mayor Larry Adams, Councilmen Brent Martin, Jimmy Cantu, Jr. and Kenneth Warren present. Councilman Brandon Ward was unable to attend. Also attending were Linda Duke, Lonnie Duke and City Secretary Sherrie Dunlap.

Confederate Veterans create 2022 history symposium

WELLINGTON – “We are trying to keep history alive, from 15th century Medieval times to a Charles Goodnight cowboy, a blacksmith, doctor and nurse and a circuit rider preacher, we invite all area residents to take part in our historical reenactment,” said Order of Confederate Rose Ladies Auxilary member Rhonda Colson, who will have a presence in the living history exhibit as well.
