Bobcats open district against Bushland

CHILDRESS — Following the recent Bowie Tournament, the Childress Bobcats opened district play against the Bushland Falcons Tuesday, March 11 in Bushland.Despite collected 10 hits to Bushland’s eight, the Bobcats fell short, 12-5.

Wellington players selected to all-district basketball teams

WELLINGTON — Twelve Wellington Skyrockets and Lady Rockets were recently named to District 2-2A All-District basketball teams, including Newcomers of the Year Callen Kane, a sophomore, and Tatum Kane, a freshman, announced Monday, March 3.

MEMPHIS — The Memphis Cyclones downed the Panhandle Christian Home Educators Association (PCHEA) Warriors in a 17-16 final Monday,March 10, thanks Eli Martin, who hit a grand slam to center field in the third inning, scoring four runs, and a singled in the fifth inning, scoring one run.

Lady Cats take on Clarendon, West Texas

CHILDRESS — The Childress Lady Cat softball team recently took on the Clarendon Lady Broncos and West Texas Lady Comanches.Against the Lady Broncos, Childress fell in a 17-6 loss Monday, March 3, as Clarendon jumped on the board in the first inning with three runs.

Going 1-2 overall, Wellington finished the tournament with a 5-4 win over West Texas. Additionally, during the tournament, donations were accepted for the Salinas family, whose son, Dahmian Salinas, a Skyrocket player, recently suffered a baseball-related head injury.

Skyrockets take on Hollis Tournament

WELLINGTON — Following a 1-2 finish in last week’s Floydada Tournament, the Wellington Skyrockets were back to tournament play Thursday, March 6. This time in the Hollis Tournament, where they finished 1-1.
