CHILDRESS — Competing in the Childress Boys Powerlifting Meet, Childress’ Adrian Macias was the sole Bobcat to take a firstplace finish Thursday, Feb. 1, squatting 445 pounds, bench pressing 365 pounds and deadlifting 450 pounds for a 1,260-pound total in weight class 275.

Wellington’s Tarver named to Amarillo Globe-News Top Performers in the Texas Panhandle

AMARILLO — For the second week in a row, Wellington senior Bryant Tarver was named to the Amarillo Globe-News Top Male Performers in the Texas Panhandle.
Earning the honor, Tarver put up double digits against Wheeler, scoring 10 points, and Quanah, scoring 17 points.

Wellington’s Wilbur named Press Pass Sports Top Performer

AMARILLO — Wellington’s Charley Wilbur was recently named to Press Pass Sports’ Top Performers, announced Friday, Feb. 2.
Named to the 11-athlete lineup, Wilbur scored 23 of Wellington’s 39 points during the Lady Rockets 39-23 victory over Quanah.

AMARILLO — Childress’ Aiden Allen and Wellington’s Bryant Tarver were recently nominated for the Amarillo Globe-News Midseason Boys Basketball Player of the Year.
Barely missing the mark, Allen earned 16,880 votes, just shy of Levi Ashurst’s 20,472-vote win. Tarver received more than 1,000 votes.
