MEMPHIS — Southside lawns and landscaping are being ripped up by feral hogs in Memphis,an issue the Memphis Police Department is now battling, according to Police Chief D.W. Griffin.
“Memphis Police Department, with the assistance of the Game Warden, are taking steps to eradicate the wild hog problem,” Griffin said, explaining that traps have been set to capture the feral hogs. “We are working to solve this issue in a safe manner without anyone getting hurt or being in fear of getting hurt.”
In fact, the department and Fisher were able to eradicate three of the hogs early Wednesday morning, Sept. 7, according to Griffin.
“We have a good plan in place,” Griffin added, urging the public to abstain from shooting the animals, due to the danger of hitting a nearby person or home. “We will solve this issue soon.”
