CHILDRESS — The 2025 Vance L. “Huck” Castleberry and Terry L. Keener awards were presented during the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Childress District’s annual Safety Banquet and Wellness Fair on Friday, Oct. 24.

CHILDRESS — An estimated 600 trick-or-treaters will hit the bricks of downtown Childress from 5:30-7 p.m. this Halloween, Friday, Oct. 31, during Childress Chamber of Commerce’s annual Downtown Trick-or-Treating event.

Early Voting now open

WELLINGTON – Early voting for the Constitutional Amendment Election began Monday, Oct. 20 and continues through Friday, Oct. 31. Early voters may cast their ballot at the clerk’s office in the Collingsworth County Courthouse during the hours of 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Extended hours are offered from 7 a.m.

CHICAGO – Friends Cameron Warren, an accountant at Wellington’s Greenbelt Electric Cooperative, Inc., and Veronica Garcia, a fifth-grade teacher at Wellington Elementary School, recently traveled to Chicago, Ill. for the purpose of competing in the 26.21mile 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon.
