Childress Farmers Market closes season with giving

Monson Music Studio’s Benjamin Guajardo, a third-grade student at Childress Elementary School and the nine-year-old son of Jake and Stephnie Guajardo, entertains Thursday, Nov. 13 at the Childress Senior Citizens Center. In honor of Veterans Day, Guajardo, accompanied by Monson Music Studio owner and instructor Gerald Monson, performed five patriotic songs on the piano, including “America,” “Marines’ Hymn,” “Anchors Aweigh,” “Yankee Doodle” and “The Cassion Song.”

As servings of chocolate, strawberry and lemon sheet cake line the stage of the Bura Handley Community Center, families partake in the Wellington Lions Club Fiesta Pile-On Fundraiser from 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7.
