Special to The Sun LUBBOCK — South Plains Electric Cooperative’s (SPEC) Operation Round Up will award Teacher Mini-Grants to elementary and secondary classroom teachers who teach at qualifying schools, including Childress Independent School District (ISD) campuses.

Wellington Gun Club, established in 2023, has plans to open the 2025 shooting season with a variety of shooting competitions at its 40-acre range, one mile west of Wellington on FM 338 and a half mile north on CR170. Spectators are invited to come out and watch the competitors in the Turkey Shoot, Quail Walk and Annie Oakley.
