My wife and I thought that going to a medical conference in San Antonio would give us a break from the February weather, but it didn’t, so we were stuck in the hotel. I had watched “Cast Away”—with Tom Hanks—once many years ago, but I had forgotten a lot of details.

CHILDRESS — The City of Childress recently reported two additional positive rabies cases Friday, March 14, bringing this year’s total to four cases.Since the rabies outbreak, which began in August 2024, 13 cases have been confirmed.

WELLINGTON – Hosted by Collingsworth County Chamber of Commerce, a reception is planned to welcome new Wellington City Manager Justin Mixon. The event will take place from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday, March 26 in the Club Room of the Bura Handley Community Center.
