The Wellington City Wide Clean-Up

The Wellington City Wide Clean-Up is Saturday, May 3. The no-fee dumping at the City of Wellington landfill continues through 10 a.m.-noon and 1-6 p.m. on Friday, May 2, and 9 a.m.-noon and 2-5 p.m. Saturday, May 3.

CHILDRESS — Tuesday, April 22, a Cessna 152, from Denton,and a Beechcraft Bonanza, from Slaton, practiced in the area, and a Piper Cherokee flew in from Lubbock for lunch.
Wellington Elementary School second graders and their teaches, Debbie George and Becky Lampe, explore the Amarillo Zoo Wednesday, April 23. During the field trip, students watched Bagheera, a melanistic jaguar, trying to catch a ball in his habitat. Over 120 animals representing more than 70 species from around the world call the Amarillo Zoo home.

Childress County 4-H Horse Club members recently compete at Junior Rodeo Cowboys Association’s (JRCA) HF&C Shootout Weekend at the Mashburn Event Center in Childress, where Kaas Kinney received All-Around Girl, Age Division 4-5; Quay Bruce received All-Around Boy, Age Division 12-14; and Dawson Adcock received All-Around Boy, Age Division 6-8.
