CHILDRESS — Meeting Monday, June 9, the City of Childress City Council hosted a budget workshop, with City of Childress Chief Financial Officer Doug Martella attending via the internet-based meeting app Zoom.

CHILDRESS — Childress County Heritage Museum will host a special luncheon at noon Friday,June 27 at First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, featuring Texas Tech University’s Southwest Collection and Special Collections Library Assistant Archivists Weston Marshall and Elissa Stroman.
With the Fourth of July Party in the Park just around the corner, vendors are welcomed to reserve booth space, event organizer Shelby Bocanegra said. “Get ready for the Fourth of July park in the Park,” she said. “We will have games, vendors, food trucks and more. This is always a great time to fundraise.” Booth space, which is $35 each, can be reserved by contacting Bocanegra at 940-5857031. An added plus—all proceeds are donated to a local charity, she said. TxDOT to offer free child car seat inspections in Memphis

CHILDRESS — The Childress District of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will offer free child car safety seat inspections, as well as free car seats and installation, during a Child Safety Seat Check Event from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, June 7 at the Memphis Public Library.

CHILDRESS — Tuesday,May 27,a Bell 206 and an R44 helicopter worked in the area, a Blackhawk helicopter dropped in for fuel, a Cessna 182 flew in from Memphis and a Cessna Citation dropped off passengers on its way from Wyoming to Houston.
