Mesquite Groundwater Conservation District welcomes 4-H Water Ambassadors to Wellington

WELLINGTON – The Mesquite Groundwater Conservation District (GCD) recently welcomed the next generation of water stewards, proudly hosting the Texas 4-H Water Ambassadors- Tier I program on Friday, June 13 at the historic Wellington Ritz Theater.

CHILDRESS — Tuesday, June 10, a Bell 407 medevac helicopter dropped in for fuel, and a Cessna 182 flew in from Hereford.Wednesday, June 11, a Cirrus diverted due to weather on its way to Amarillo, and two military Blackhawks landed for fuel.

The city issued the reminder Friday, June 13, after it was reported that several children were seen swimming in Fair Park Lake, as well as jumping off Timber Bridge. In its 30th year of operation, students in Wellington Opportunity Center, Inc.’s (WOCI) free six-week summer session head to the Ritz Theatre’s Monday matinee on June 16, the second week of the summer session. Youth entering first-sixth grade are invited to participate from 9 a.m.-2:45 p.m.
