CHILDRESS — On Sunday, Aug. 17, the Childress Police Department responded to shots fired at Fair Park City Auditorium. According to Childress Police Department Chief Jerrald Johnson, a male suspect shot off a gun around 12:30 a.m. while an event was taking place at the city auditorium.

Childress County commissioners accept HVAC bid

CHILDRESS — Meeting Monday, Aug. 11, the Childress County Commissioners Court accepted a bid from AryCo HVAC, Electric and Plumbing, a new local business, for maintenance of the air conditioning and heating units at the Childress County Courthouse.
The City of Childress 2025 Paving Project will include five blocks of newly paved streets (yellow), 22 blocks of seal-coated streets (red) and the seal coating of Fair Park Stadium parking lot.

CHILDRESS — The City of Childress recently unveiled its 2025 Paving Project, which will include 27 blocks of city streets, as well as the Fair Park Stadium parking lot.

CHILDRESS — Childress Regional Medical Center (CRMC) opened the new public entrance to its emergency room (ER) Friday, Aug. 15, according to CRMC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Holly Holcomb.  “We are excited to announce that the new public entrance to the emergency room is open,” Holcomb said.

CHILDRESS — Tuesday, August 5, a Cessna Citation, out of Arkansas, dropped off passengers and took on some fuel before heading to Lubbock, and a Cessna 210 fueled up on its way from Colorado to Dallas.Wednesday, August 6, an experimental aircraft, from Iowa, stopped in for fuel on its way to Utah.
