As the designated spokesperson and superintendent for Childress Independent School District (ISD), I am issuing the following statement. Management of district funds is a responsibility the district’s administration and the board of trustees take very seriously.
The Childress City Council approved to issue requests for proposals for the Childress and Baylor Lake Lease at the recent Monday, Sept. 8 meeting. The proposals will be separated into two sections—community and hunting, fishing and cattle grazing.

CHILDRESS — Meeting Monday, Sept. 8, the City of Childress City Council held the first reading of the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Tax Rate Ordinance 952, approving a tax rate of $0.839342, including a rate of $0.50139 for maintenance and operations (M&O) and $0.
