Childress summer camps welcome over 90 student-athletes

Through the Lens of LizLady Cat Volleyball Camp welcomes student-athletes, ranging from third-sixth grade, for a three-day summer camp Monday, June 2-Wednesday June 4. Overall, 90 student-athletes have turned out for summer volleyball, basketball, track and weightlifting, coaches said.

Lady Cats named to all-district softball teams

CHILDRESS — Nine Childress Lady Cats, including sophomore pitcher Ansley Parr, who was selected as the Defensive Most Valuable Player, were recently named to 2025 District 1-3A All-District softball teams.
Childress High School senior Taylor Wiseman was recently selected to the 2025 Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) 3A Track and Field All-State Team. A University of Oregon commit, Wiseman recently sealed double-gold at the UIL Class 3A State Championships, throwing firstplace finishes in both discus and shot put. At the meet, Wiseman also broke the Class 3A shot put state record, uncorking a 47-2 to seal her name in the record books. Press Pass Sports/Joe Garcia III

CHILDRESS — The Childress Bobcats secured another district win, downing River Road in a 4-0 shutout Friday, April 4 to bring their district record to 4-3.On the board in the bottom of the first inning, Drake Rabe walked, and Brody Hightower grounded out, each scoring one run.
