WELLINGTON – Collingsworth County Farm Bureau (CCFB) has offered to pay the 4-H enrollment fee of $25 per student for local youth up until Oct. 31.
“It is important for all youth wanting to sign up for 4-H to take advantage of this offer before Oct. 31,” said Kenny Patterson, extension agent. “After that date, the fee increases to $30, and the individual will be responsible for paying it. Plus, enrolling in 4-H is a great way to experience the many projects offered.”
This is the sixth year that CCFB has paid youth enrollment for Wellington 4-H members.
“Support like this is what enables the 4-H program to continue to expand,” Patterson said. “Many projects are beginning to start right now – food and nutrition, goat, lamb, swine and rabbit projects.”
Upcoming project opportunities include clothing and textile, quilting, grass identification, shooting sports, horse club and photography.
“If there is something you are interested in, let us know, and we may be able to start a project group in it as well,” Patterson added.
Contact the Collingsworth County Extension Office at 806-447-2313 for assistance in enrolling in 4-H and for more information pertaining to project opportunities.
“Remember to thank a CCFB member today for their continuous generosity,” Patterson said.
