Cyclones fall short in battle against Hale Center

MEMPHIS — Following an exciting season-first win over Hale Center last week, the Memphis Cyclones fell short in a 32-13 final against the Hale Center Owls Friday, Sept. 10.

Unable to reach the endzone, the Cyclones were down by 18 at halftime.

Attempting a post-halftime return, Cutter O’Neal and Edgar Villa teamed up for a 24-yard touchdown pass, which was rebutted the Owls with a score of their own.

Ending the night on a high note, Villa finished airing his 56 yards, connecting with Tristan Aguilar to finalize the 32-13 score.

The Cyclones were kept to 172 total yards, 116 of which were on the ground, thanks to Gabriel Zuniga, who rushed for 42 yards and Charlie Sepeda, who rushed for 30 yards.

Hale Center: Lance Perez 10-yard pass from Berumen (failed two-point conversion).

Fourth Quarter

Hale Center: Lance Perez 9-yard pass from Berumen (two-point conversion).

Memphis: Tristan Aguilar 22-yard pass from Villa (kick).
