GRANDPARENT’S DAY

Travis Elementary is hosting a Grandparent’s Day celebration at 2:45 p.m. At the celebration, all grandparents are invited to visit classrooms and enjoy a snack. All visitors must check in at the front office.

35TH ANNUAL GOLF TOURNEY

Join the Memphis Lions Club for their 35th Annual Golf Tournament at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11. The tournament will be a two-person, 18-hole scramble with prizes available for top places in each flight. Entry is $50 per team. Mulligans available. Dinner included. HALL COUNTY PICNIC & REUNION

Come one, come all to the Hall County Picnic and Reunion. Scheduled for Sept. 18, attendees will enjoy booths, food, games, a parade and entertainment by the Buster Bledsoe Band. Those interested in renting a booth are asked to call the Memphis Chamber of Commerce at 806-259-3144 or visit 515 W. Main to pick up an application.

FIRE DEPARTMENT FUNDRAISER

The Memphis Volunteer Fire Department will be raffling off a $500 gift card. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased through any member of the department or at the fire station, 721 W. Robertson. Proceeds will be used to purchase equipment and gear. A winner will be drawn on Sept. 20.

NON-DOM COFFEE

Join First United Methodist Church, 121 N. 8th St., for a free, non-denominational coffee get-together from 7-10 a.m. every Tuesday on the patio in the garden.

BREAKFAST WITH THE KING

Enjoy breakfast with the King at the First United Methodist Church, 121 N. 8th St., the first Monday of every month.

LEGAL AID CLINIC

Open 10 a.m. – noon on the second Friday of each month, the legal aid clinic is located on the first floor of the Hall County Courthouse, 512 W. Main St.

FREE EXCERISE CLASSES

Join Michelle Branigan for free exercise classes beginning at 5:30 p.m. every Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, 121 N. 8th St. Levels of activity differ weekly.

LOW IMPACT EXERCISE CLASS

Free low impact exercise classes are offered at the Memphis Library, 305 S. 8th St., from 8:30-9 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. All ages are welcome. No special clothing or footwear is required.

REPORT HAZARDS

Citizens are asked to report potholes, fallen tree limbs, street light outages and other concerns by contacting City Hall at 806-259-3001.

SENIOR CITIZENS LUNCHEON

Senior citizens are welcomed to meet for lunch on the second Friday of the month at the Memphis Housing Authority Office, 216 S. 5th St. Free of charge, guests are encouraged to bring their favorite dish or dessert. For more information, contact Orvilla Evans at 806-259-2056.
