The Lil Cats are selling raffle tickets for a Jim Bowie Prime Stainless Steel Pellet Grill with WiFi, including one bag of pellets, one grill cover and one grate cover for $10 per ticket. Join the Childress Volunteer Fire Department and Childress Main Street for a hamburger cookout from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10 at R. Wright Armstrong Park (501 Engine Park), 101 S. Main St. Benefitting the Childress Volunteer Fire Department, meals including a hamburger, chips, dessert and a water will be sold for $10. To-go plates will also be available.
The hunt is on for blood donors! Donate at the Childress Community Blood Drive from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14 at Fair Park Auditorium. All donors will be entered into a drawing for a door prize as well as receive hemoglobin A1C blood sugar testing, a bigfoot T-shirt, a coupon for a free bundtlet from Nothing Bundt Cakes and one free entry to the Don Harrington Discovery Center. CYRL BASKETBALL SIGN UPS

12TH ANNUAL GOLF TOURNEY
The Childress Chamber of Commerce will host their 12th Annual Golf Tournament beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25 at Stoney Ridge Golf Course, 910 FM 2530. The tournament will be a three-person scramble with a blind draw flight after 18. Categories will include longest drive and closest to the pin for men and women. Cash prizes available. FIRE DEPARTMENT FUNDRAISER
The Childress Volunteer Fire Department is raffling off tickets for a smoker and setup complete with a Weber Spirit II E-210 propane grill. Tickets, which can be purchased through any member of the Childress Fire Department or through Venmo at Childress-FireDepartment, are $20 each or six for $100.
AL-ANON FAMILY GROUPS
Al-Anon meetings are held at 7:30 p.m. every Thursday at the First United Methodist Church of Childress, 201 Ave. D NE. Al-Anon is a mutual support group of peers who share hope and encouragement related to the effects of an alcoholic in their lives.
The tornado siren is tested at noon the third Friday of each month. If there is inclement weather, the siren will not be tested.
