Audra Dean Morgan was born in Shamrock, Texas, December 28, 1939, to John M. Morgan and Audie P. Morgan of Samnorwood, Texas. She passed away on July 16, 2021, at the age of 81.
She is survived by two sisters, Wanda Barber of Cleburne and Barbara Martin, her twin, of Euless; one sister-in-law, Mary Morgan of Wellington; and multiple nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Audie Morgan; her brothers, Michael Morgan, Harry Morgan, J.M. Morgan, Jr. and Wendell Morgan; and a sister, Johnnie Mae Oliver.
Upon graduation from Samnorwood High School, Audra served as a seamstress in McLean, Texas. She then worked in Shamrock at Vernell’s Jewelry for several years before purchasing the business and renaming it Audra’s Jewelry & Gifts. She retired in 2013.
Audra was a longtime member of the Eleventh Street Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 30 years. She loved family, friends, children, animals and people in general. Audra always looked to the future and will be deeply missed by the community of Shamrock.
Visitation took place from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21 at Robertson Funeral Directors in Shamrock.
The service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 22 at the Eleventh Street Baptist Church with Jeff Messer of Amarillo as officiant. A graveside service followed at the Shamrock Cemetery.
