With no burn ban in Childress County, residents can shoot fireworks this Independence Day.

CHILDRESS – Let the fireworks begin for the Fourth of July in Childress County.

The Commissioners Court of Childress County did not put a burn ban in place when they met at 9 a.m. on May 10 at the Childress County Courthouse. This allows Childress County residents to shoot fireworks from June 25 through July 4.

“We were starting to get calls asking are we in burn ban or can we do fireworks,” said Childress County Judge Kimberly Jones. “If you’re going to do fireworks in the county, be safe.”
