CHILDRESS – Snatching the lead late in the fourth inning, the Childress Bobcats pulled an 11-1 victory over Roosevelt on Tuesday, April 6 when Camden Read singled on a 2-2 count for one run, breaking the tie.
Notching five runs in the fifth, the big inning was driven by a single by Scout Smith and a homer by Stone Smith.
On the mound, Read lasted five innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out five.
Chipping in on the Bobcats’ 12 hits was Creek Churchill, Lane Foster and Scout Smith, who each had multiple hits. Foster and Churchill lead with three each.
The Bobcats (10-6) challenged Idalou on Tuesday, April 13. Results were unavailable at press time.
