Hall County law enforcement officers, including the Texas Game Warden, Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Hall County Telecommunication, Memphis Police Department and Memphis Animal Control, gather in front of the Hall County Courthouse on Friday, April 2 to lower the flag in remembrance of Texas DPS Trooper Chad Walker. Walker, who had served with the Texas Highway Patrol for six years, succumbed on March 31 to gunshot wounds sustained during an ambush while stopping to assist what he believed was a disabled vehicle near Mexia.
