CHILDRESS – The $11.2 million Super 2 project in Collingsworth County is set to begin the hot mix process in April, according to the Childress District of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
Duininck, contractor for the project, is finishing construction of the southernmost two widenings as well as completing the extension of the last few culverts in the same area. The Super 2 will feature periodic alternating passing lanes which allow faster vehicles to pass creating opportunities to pass in both directions in a safe manner.
The expected completion date is the first week of June, weather pending. Drivers are reminded to use caution when approaching the work zone, which includes reducing your speed, obeying all posted warning and reducing distractions in the vehicle.
