Six pleas heard in 100th Judicial District Court

CLARENDON – On Tuesday, March 16, six pleas took place in the 100th Judicial District Court via the internet-based meeting app Zoom, with the Court sitting in Donley County.
District Attorney for the 100th Judicial District Luke Inman along with Assistant District Attorney Harley Caudle prosecuted the case for the State of Texas, with the Honorable Judge Stuart Messer presiding.
Raymond Loyd Ballard, 47, of Clarendon, was sentenced to 40 years in prison for the first-degree felony offense of forgery. Following his arrest on Aug. 1, 2019, Ballard was initially placed on probation for four years on Feb. 28, 2020.
The State filed a motion asking the Court to revoke Ballard’s probation on Nov. 5, 2020, based upon his violation of certain conditions of his probation. At the hearing on Tuesday, Ballard admitted to violating probation, and Messer sentenced him to 40 years in prison.
Donnie Moore, 39, of Wellington, was sentenced to eight years in prison for the third-degree felony offense of failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements. Following his arrest on July 1, 2019, Moore was initially placed on probation for six years on Dec. 2, 2018.
The State filed a motion asking the Court to revoke Moore’s probation on Feb. 8, based upon his violation of certain conditions of his probation. At the hearing on Tuesday, Moore admitted to violating probation, and Messer sentenced him to eight years in prison.
Michael Edward Rosick, 30, of Tulsa, Okla., was sentenced to six years in prison for the third-degree felony offense of fraudulent use of identifying information. Following his arrest on Sept. 11, 2018, Rosick was initially placed on probation for five years on Oct. 26, 2018.
The State filed a motion asking the Court to revoke Rosicks’s probation on Aug. 31, 2020, based upon his violation of certain conditions of his probation. At the hearing on Tuesday, Rosick admitted to violating probation, and Messer sentenced him to six years in prison.
Christopher Kenneth Kirk, 30, from Amarillo, was sentenced to eight months in prison for the state jail felony offense of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Kirk was arrested by Childress Police Officer Matthew Bradley on April 13, 2020. In addition to the prison term, Kirk was ordered to pay $340 in court costs.
Ruben Rodriguez, 30, from Childress, was sentenced to six months in prison for the state jail felony offense of possession of a controlled substance. Rodriguez was arrested by former Childress Police Officer Tyler Kinkaid on Aug. 29, 2020. In addition to the prison term, Rodriguez was ordered to pay $340 in court costs and $180 drug lab restitution
Justin Taylor White, 27 from Adamsville, Tenn., was placed on four years probation for the third-degree felony offense of possession of a prohibited weapon. White was arrested by a Childress County deputy on Feb. 16, 2020.
White was also ordered to pay a $4,000 fine to Childress County, $340 in court costs and complete 200 hours of community service. If his probation is revoked, White faces up to 10 years in prison.
