KERMIT – Setting two personal bests at the Saturday, March 6 Region 1 meet, Kaidie Hackler snagged first place in weight class 181 with a state propelling 840 total pounds.
Hackler squatted a personal best of 315 pounds, bench pressed 205 pounds and deadlifted a personal best of 320 pounds to surpass second-place Slaton competitor Amaya Ramos, who lifted 825 total pounds.
Also competing for the Lady Cats were Emma Luna in weight class 220, who lifted a 13th place 640 total pounds, and Leila Guzman in weight class 105, who lifted a 19th place 330 total pounds.
Hackler will compete in the state meet in Corpus Christi on Thursday, March 18. Competition begins at 8 a.m.
