Oradell Rebecca Barker, 93 of Lewisville, Texas died February 19, 2021. Due to COVID-19, a private graveside service took place at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Childress Cemetery.
Oradell Rebecca Barker was born on July 26, 1927 to Sadie and Velvet Ockletree and adopted and raised by Lucy and John Thomas of Childress, Texas.
Oradell graduated Mary Etta Price High School which was later named J.J. Rhoads. She attended business school in Ft. Worth, Texas. She served as a cook and worked for Dixie Café for many years. She met and married Willie Joe Barker, who preceded her in death.
She was a member of Church of God in Christ of Childress. She later moved to Lewisville where she became a member and mother of Christ Charismatic Christian Community Church under the leadership Bishop Chambers and Pastor Price.
She was also preceded in death by daughter Joycelyn Nash Brown, son Quentin Kathell Barker and sister Omazell Phelphs.
She leaves to cherish her memories daughter Doris Wilson (Willie C.) of North Richland Hills, Texas; sister Patsy Grant; grandchildren, Eric Anthony of Childress, Carmisha Nash of Lewisville, Hannah Marie Wilson, Saleem Ali and Willie Wilson III of Atlanta, Ga., Zane Wilson of New Orleans and Saul Wilson of Iowa City, Iowa; great grandchildren, Mahlik, Sunflower, Juliana Marie, lyla, Anait and Karis; and a host of other relatives and friends.
